Location
The race is run on the Uwharrie Trail in the Uwharrie National Forest. All races start at the Jumping Off Rock trailhead on Flint Hill Rd. (also known as State Road 1306), two miles east of Ophir, NC.

Parking
40M participants:
All 40M participants will park on the shoulder of Flint Hill Rd. in designated areas on either side of the Jumping Off Rock Trailhead (start/finish). 40M **ONLY** are permitted to park here and will receive a parking pass to display on dashboard of vehicle.

20M & 8M participants: All 8M & 20M participants will park at the Eldorado Outpost and will catch a shuttle bus/van to the race start. You will catch a shuttle bus/van back to the Eldorado Outpost after your race. Masks are required on shuttle vans and buses at all times.

Shuttle Schedule for 8M & 20M Participants
20M:
Shuttles will run from the Eldorado Outpost to the Start from 6:45am – 7:30am.
8M:
Shuttles will run from the Eldorado Outpost to the Start from 7:45am – 8:30am.
*Don’t wait for the last shuttle!
*Shuttles will run continuously from both finish lines back to the Eldorado Outpost; please be patient.

Drop Bags
Drop bags will be issued to all participants. 40M runners: your drop bag will be available at the 20M turnaround and again at the finish. 8M & 20M finishers will get their drop bag at the finish only. Official drop bags will be provided – no personal bags or duffles accepted. Ensure your bib number is clearly displayed on drop bag. No valuables, please!

Awards
All finishers receive handmade pottery awards from Michael Mahan, a local Seagrove potter.  Top 3 male & female finishers in each race receive special commemorative pottery and top overall finishers will receive shoe certificates from ALTRA.

Aid Stations
Aid stations are situated at the 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29, 32, 35 and 38-mile points. Water, Tailwind energy drink, soda, GU energy gels, fruit, and snacks available at most aid stations. Soup, snacks & hot drinks at the 8M, 20M and 40M finish area. Aid Stations also have basic first aid supplies, so please ask if you need anything.

EMTs will be stationed at the 8-Mile mark, 20-Mile mark and start/finish areas. HAM radio operators are located at most aid stations for the purpose of tracking runners and communicating with the race director. Please ensure your bib number is clearly visible at all times. If you choose to discontinue the race at any point, you must report your name and bib number to an aid station volunteer.

Crew Access
Crews may access their runners at the 8, 11, 20, 29, 32 and 38 mile points. Please review the map and driving directions.
